Literary analysis

The essays of literary analysis will normally have in their exposition textual quotations from the book that should be enclosed in quotation marks and, if done in a computer, preferably in italics. The reader is supposed to know the work, so references can be brief, only to place it in the context we want to deal with.

Depending on whether you want to analyze the whole work or an aspect of it (for example “Treatment of birth in the work” Women and traditions of Peru “) we will dissect the different points to be discussed and commenting in a very orderly manner. The language in these essays must be quite formal and are perhaps the most rigid and academic.

It is the closing of the text and therefore the study of the subject. It must end with the contribution of the author, with his definitive and final opinion based on the arguments made previously.

because it is the last part of the essay, and how the introduction should be brief in relation to the exhibition. That is, in a one-page essay three or four lines will be sufficient for the conclusion but if it is twenty pages long the conclusion could occupy three pages.

In the conclusion, the argument must be handled in such a way that the reader is convinced and, if it has not already been achieved, that he changes his way of thinking and aligns himself with the author’s vision.

The conclusion according to the type of test

In a scientific essay this conclusion would be the reaffirmation or definitive refutation of the hypothesis.

If we are writing an argumentative or an expository essay, we will try to summarize the main ideas that we want to remain in the mind of the reader.

In a literary analysis essay, the latter of the parts of an essay will summarize the main conclusions of this analysis.
